First off, if you’re still paying attention, Hamas rejected another ceasefire agreement.
To the ‘ceasefire now’ crowd, what now?
Secondly, I was in the Bay Area of California these past few days. Had some meetings and was in the studio all day working on some new projects. This morning, I was in Oakland and saw on the news that the Israeli Defense Force had supposedly fired on a crowd full of Gazans this morning. CNN was talking about it nonstop.
I knew context was missing already, but didn’t have the time this morning to cross reference and verify like I usually do, but this evening, this as I’m sitting in the airport waiting for my plane to take me home, I see a post by Palestinian activist, Bassem Eid shed some light on the truth.
Earlier this morning, about 30 trucks full of food and medical supplies were sent into Gaza. They passed an Israeli checkpoint who let them through, and the trucks made it to the people. Unfortunately, because Hamas tends to hijack these trucks, the people of Gaza scrambled to get their supplies before Hamas did. Hamas responded by firing on the Gazans. People died both from Hamas bullets and the stampede caused by the shooting.
The humanitarian aid is a joint effort between Egypt, France, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and Israel.
Yes, all of these countries work together to bring aid to Gaza.
Not only is the mainstream news full of it again, this system of aid is clearly a broken one.
What is happening currently is a war. Hamas declared war, and they have it. Hezbollah in Lebanon has been claiming to get involved, and they’ve been shooting rockets from the north. Thousands of Israelis have had to evacuate northern Israel because of it.
I don’t know how much you know about war, but providing aid across enemy lines to civilians on the other side during the war is not something that is normally done.
I don’t care how many iterations of how many different major news organizations and your favorite public figures say otherwise, do your due diligence. Even the casualty count in Gaza is a number provided by Hamas themselves.
Justice is not subjective. It is not a trend, and it is not subject to interpretation. Justice is a divine concept. If we are to stand for justice, we must get out of our own way and let truth guide us.
I really hope you’re still paying attention…
I wish more people had the moral clarity and critical thinking skills you possess.
