Once again, the international community, and mainstream media show their true colors.
I did see reporting on the massacre that has been going on in Israel of the past few days, but right now, my newsfeed and search engines are overwhelmed with reports that Israel has cut off food, water, and electricity to Gaza.
I see the fake activists again, decrying this as if Israel woke up one day and decided to starve people.
First of all, Hamas declared war on Israel. They did so by slaughtering over 1000 Israelis, decapitating 40 babies, kidnapping children, raping women and dragging their dead bodies with bleeding and exposed vaginas all over the streets, and many more gruesome things.
The standard procedure for Israel when they are at war with Hamas has always been to cut off food, water, and electricity. The food part is the simplest to explain. Israel sends thousands of pounds of truckloads of food and medical supplies into Gaza on a regular basis. It’s kind of hard to do that when you are simultaneously defending your own country from rockets that are coming from the region you are providing food for.
I couldn’t remember, so I started to research whether or not Israel is legally obligated to provide these things to Gaza. Then I realized something. It really doesn’t matter. Whatever contract I had with someone else, the moment they step in to my house and slaughter my family, whatever it was we had agreed on becomes null and void.
What I happened to find out is that is exactly the case with Israel and Gaza. There isn’t a legal obligation except under certain circumstances, but all of that goes out of the window during armed conflict, which makes complete and total sense. Again, if I am legally obliged to bring food to my neighbor’s house once a week, and then one day, my neighbor decides to shoot bullets through my windows, I shouldn’t have to continue providing food to my neighbor. I’m going to neutralize my neighbor at best.
The prevailing virtue missing right now is common sense. These recent writings of mine are a desperate appeal to anyone left with common sense. Yes, for the innocent Arab Palestinians that do not have food, water, or electricity, this is a terrible situation. But Hamas knew exactly what would happen if they launched these attacks. The question we should all be asking is “why on earth would Hamas start a war knowing aid would be cut off?”
Let me flip the scenario around. I am a husband of a beautiful South African queen and father of two incredibly smart young boys. My job is to provide for my family. Let’s say I had an arrangement with another neighbor that every Thursday at 4:00pm, they would bring groceries to our house with nothing in return from me. Already sounds a little bit weird, doesn’t it? Now on top of that, let’s say on a Thursday at 10:00am, I intentionally set my neighbor’s house on fire, killing his wife and children.
You with me?
4:00pm rolls around, and I’m sitting in my living room waiting for him to show up with groceries. When he inevitably does not, I get angry and tell the other neighbors he’s oppressing me because he’s not providing me with food to feed my family. The neighbors write articles and make speeches about how my neighbor is not only denying me food, but dignity and self-determination, robbing me of the life I deserve. Courts convene and the general public opinion is that my neighbor is mean and vindictive and should continue providing me with food even though I’ve burned his house down and murdered his family.
I hope that scenario sounded absurd to you, because that is what is currently happening with this new wave of reports. What the reports m also fail to mention is that the Palestinian Authority has refused to pay their electric bill to Israel since at least 2017. And with the billions in aid the PA gets from the US and other countries, they do not have a shortage of money.
This is war. War is messy. War is real. Israel is not legally or morally obliged to provide anything to any region whose ruling party is currently attacking her. Period. Nobody would be.
The Arab Palestinians in Gaza have protested Hamas several times, and as recently as a few weeks ago, and are always met with death and destruction. Many of them understand that Hamas is actually the root of their problems. They know that starting a war with Israel will inevitably have their power shut off. They are asking some of the same questions posed in this article. The problem is, the ones who claim to speak for them here in the West don’t actually care about them or their cause at all. These fake Palestinian human rights, activists only care about Arab Palestinians as much as they can use them as step-stools to hurl stones at Jews.
Anyone with common sense would ask me why I am not directly providing for my own family, let alone why I would burn down the house of the neighbor who is feeding my family for free.
The instigators of this war is Hamas. Civilian casualties are the fault of Hamas. Starving Arab Palestinians in Gaza are the fault of Hamas. Israel is doing what she has to do to protect her people. And for the parents reading this article, you would do anything you could do to protect your children as well. Not somebody else’s. Especially if the parents of those children are trying to kill you. You don’t hate those children, you just love yours.
“When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons. Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”
