"You'll Never Take My Soul"
This weekend, my parents and I will be attending an event where my dad will be recognized for his work in the Africa-Israel / Black-Jewish space. I’ve been asked to come and perform a song, and lately, I’ve been asked to perform a song I wrote for my Zion album called State of Freedom.
State of Freedom is based on the Masada Defenders of 73 AD, but it also highlights two other crucial points in history. Check it out below.
My heart is still heavy from all that is taking place, both concerning Israel and what is happening here in the US. This is going to be a long, ugly war; and just as there is an actual war over there, there is a soft war over here. A war for hearts and minds. A war of information. A war for truth. Many won’t make it, but we still fight for those who might.
One thing I’m forever grateful for is being able to do music. It can often reach the heart when simply speaking cannot, so the only think I’ll say now is, I hope this song reaches you right now.
This year, we took this music and message all over the US and beyond; to Jerusalem and Paris. Consider being a paid subscriber and support us as we go even broader in 2024. ❤️
"Since we long ago resolved never to be servants to the Romans, nor to any other than to God Himself, Who alone is the true and just Lord of mankind, the time is now come that obliges us to make that resolution true in practice ...We were the very first that revolted, and we are the last to fight against them; and I cannot but esteem it as a favor that God has granted us, that it is still in our power to die bravely, and in a state of freedom."
